Custom Boat Builds & Fabrication

Custom aluminum fabrication for boats — dry box hatches, rooster tail mounts, grab bars, light mounts, deck mods, platforms, and whatever else your boat needs that you can't buy off the shelf.

Overview

Custom aluminum work for your boat

Boats are personal. The right mount, hatch, or platform is the one built for your hull, your layout, and the way you actually use the water.

JG’s takes on aluminum welding and custom fabrication for boats of the style used across Central Louisiana — jon boats, mud boats, and fishing rigs. If it’s aluminum and it needs to be built, mounted, or modified, bring the idea and we’ll talk through how to fabricate it.

Every boat project is reviewed individually. Photos of the boat and the area you want worked on tell us the most, so have those ready when you call.

Common boat fabrication requests

  • Dry box hatches — with or without the compartment
  • Rooster tail mounts
  • Grab bars
  • Light mounts
  • Deck modifications
  • Platforms
  • Any other custom fabrication you have in mind

How we approach it

Built around your boat, not a catalog

Add-on parts that almost fit are worse than none. Custom fabrication means the piece is made for the actual boat.

Measure and plan first

The work starts from the boat itself — the area, the layout, and how the finished piece will be used — so the fit is right the first time.

Aluminum welding at the shop

Fabrication and welding are done in the Bunkie shop, where the equipment and setup support clean, controlled work.

One-off and custom requests welcome

If you don’t see it listed, ask anyway. Custom means custom — describe what you want and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a fit for the shop.

Aluminum boat repairs and custom components

JG's handles aluminum boat welding and custom metalwork from Bunkie, including brackets, supports, hatches and mounts. Repair inquiries start with the hull's condition and how the boat is used, not a promise made from a photograph.

Call the Bunkie shop with photographs of the whole boat and close-ups of the crack. JG's can discuss an inspection for possible aluminum welding repair. Material thickness, corrosion, earlier repairs and the location of the damage affect feasibility.

When you call, have photographs, approximate measurements, the material if known, your location, the desired result and your preferred timeframe ready.
